As per the Oilers site (thanks Metal&Oil for the heads up in the comments):
The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with goaltender Devan Dubnyk and defenceman Jeff Petry on two-year contracts.
Edit:
Also, as per Elliotte Friedman:
Salary arb filers: Bonino (ANA), McGinn (COL), Bachman/Fistric (DAL), Quincey (DET), Gagner (EDM), Versteeg (FLA), Diaz (MON)…
Wonder what he gets awarded, or do you think he signs beforehand?

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Taylor Chorney and assigned defenceman Jeff Petry to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.
I really like Petry. He showed good poise most nights, but there some plays where he had problems with the puck. So, I can why he was sent back down.. but I’m not worried. It’ll be good to give Chorney another opportunity too, and maybe he might be better for the powerplay.

Jeff Petry Recalled - Photo from A New Ice Age Blog
This one comes as a surprise to me, as I thought with Vandermeer skating he’d be back soon. But maybe because of the holiday roster freeze (and just general niceness of not wanting to pull Petry away during Christmas) they waited. I am excited about this call up, as I have a lot of expectations for Jeff Petry to be a good defenseman one day. It’ll take some time though.

As per the Oil’s official e-mail:
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have signed Jeff Petry to a two-year NHL entry level contract.
Petry, the Oilers 1st choice, 45th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, recently completed his third season with Michigan State University of the CCHA.
I’m going to assume that this means we may see him in Oilers silks as soon as tonight! But I’m not sure if that is the case. This has been rumored for a bit though, that we’d see him play either in Springfield or with Edmonton after MSU’s season was done.

What to do with Jeff Petry?
Guy Flaming over at Coming Down The Pipe / The Pipeline Show wrote that the MSU Spartans have been swept by the Michigan Wolverines, and brought up the possibility of Petry heading to Springfield. So it’s decision time. Does Petry head to Springfield? I’d be tickled pink if that were the case.
I’ve seen a bit of Jeff Petry this year, and he has some upside in all aspects of his game. Great play in College doesn’t necessarily translate to the NHL though, so I’m sure he’ll spend some good time in Springfield/Oklahoma. But the question is, should he come up to Springfield now, or should he play another year in Michigan?
So… question for you folks…
