PRE-GAME RANT
After a 3 day break, the Oilers are home to the Carolina Hurricanes. First off, apologies for the awful reminder for the GDT pic. However, there aren’t a lot of good pictures of the Oilers/Hurricanes.
I am disappointed that I won’t be going to this one, because I have some danged training course (that I voluntarily signed up for). Damn it. I won’t even get to watch it live on TV either.
This one should be winnable. I didn’t like how the Oilers liked the last game though, so hopefully that was just one blip on the radar.
Ben Eager returns to the line up, and Devan Dubnyk gets the start tonight.
Prediction: 4-2 Oilers

PRE-GAME
The Oilers dominated the Canes last year, sweeping the season series. It was only one game, but it’s a sweep! Same deal this season, so here’s hoping for another win. The Canes are currently 7-7 and most recently split a home and home with the Panthers. 7th pick Jeff Skinner has been turning some heads so far tallying 12 points in 14 games. I think he’s after our Calder.
Who’s hot? Kurtis Foster, that’s who! He’s been a point per game guy the last 5 and Gagner has also lit the lamp 3 times in the last 4 games.
No official word on line ups so far and Horcoff plus a few others are listed questionable tonight so we could see some changes.

GDT – Edmonton Oilers vs. Carolina Hurricanes – Feb 1, 2010 @ 7:30 PM – PPV – Game 54

GDT - Edmonton Oilers vs. Carolina Hurricanes
PRE-GAME RANT
Well, let’s call this one for what it is. If the Oilers win this one, things get a bit tighter. But if the Oilers lose, they’re going to have a 9-point separation with the Hurricanes (OT points, aside). I would almost think that even the Oilers couldn’t blow THAT lead.
The Edmonton Oilers are on game number 13 of a losing streak, having gone all of January without a win. The Hurricanes are headed the other direction lately, having won 5 of their last 6 games, all this since naming Eric Staal their new captain. Coincidence? Possibly. But this is something I think the Oilers could learn from as well.
Anyways, prediction time:
Canes 3, Oilers 2
