PRE-GAME RANT
The Oilers are coming off an awful 6-3 shellacking by the hands of the Boston Bruins yesterday. I don’t predict that this one will be any better, but I’m pretty sure my track record for predictions is pretty awful.
Tonight Cam Barker is out (ankle injury), while Andy Sutton returns from his suspension (that is great news). Magnus Paajarvi will also draw in for this one while Ben Eager sits against what is probably the least dirty team in the league.
Prediction: 5-3 Detroit

PRE-GAME RANT
Wow does this team ever look horrible on paper. No offense meant to the players, but really, most of them in the lineup really aren’t meant for prime-time or are bottom tier players. Sam Gagner is the latest victim, after having a tendon in his hand severed by Jones’ skate. Gagner was sitting on the bench when jones accidentally stepped on it. I’m not even sure how that happens, but it did. This team is a skeleton crew and looks more like our AHL team should.
Prediction: Redwings 6, Oilers 1. lol

PRE-GAME RANT
Well with all the magic around the WJHCs, it’s almost hard to go back to an Oilers game, but you know what.. I’m still enjoying watching the games, unlike the same time last year (which was pretty intolerable). Don’t forget tonight is also part 3 of Oil Change. It starts at 5:30PM MST on TSN (2:30 AM Istanbul time
).
Anyways, on to tonight’s game. We should see all 3 call ups in this one. Linus Omark and Liam Reddox were called up last night. Jeff Petry has already been here for about a week now. Jim Vandermeer is also expected to be back in the lineup. He practiced yesterday with Kurtis Foster as his D-partner, while Ladislav Smid played with Petry. I would not expect Jordan Eberle to be in for this one. It would be safe not to expect him back for a while, however there seems to be a lot of optimism that he’ll only miss a couple of games or so.
Prediction: 5-2 Red Wings

PRE-GAME
Happy Remembrance/Veterans Day everyone! Hope you are all remembering where this day off came from (if you have a day off.. if you don’t, I hope you remember why you’re jealous of those that do have a day off
).
One thing we’d like to forget, however, is the Oilers last performance in Raleigh, vs. the Hurricanes. The sign of any good team is how they respond from a game like that. Every team gets pounded now and then. The Blues are off to a flying start this season (tied for the lead in the West and only 1 loss in 12 games, going into yesterday’s game), and they were beaten badly by the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. It happens. The Oilers can put the game against the Continue reading 'GDT: Oilers 2, Red Wings 6 – Game 14 – 2010-11-11 @ 5:30 PM – SNET ONE'»

PRE-GAME
Despite finishing in the basement last season, the Oilers took 3 of 4 meetings against the Wings. Motor City will probably enjoy their trip to Oil Country this time around though. The Red Wings (7-2-1) are playing great hockey right now so it will a tough game for the Oilers (3-5-2) to pull out, so if we’re going 3 of 4 this year, I expect tonight might be that loss. The Oil showed some great fight last game after giving up an early lead, but no way can we go down 3-0 and expect to win games. A strong first period will be the key to any success tonight.
Datsyuk will be a player to watch tonight. He’s had a solid start and has 8 points in his last 6 games. Our boy Ebs is trying to keep up with 6 points in his last 7.
Prediction: Heartache…
