The Oilers recalled Lennart Petrell, Teemu Hartikainen and Taylor Chorney from the Oklahoma City Barons. In turn, Ryan O’Marra, Josh Green and Colten Teubert get to escape this shit show for a bit.
In other news, the Edmonton Sun is reporting that Steve Tambellini should be getting a contract extension… only the details need to be worked out. This is of course based on the fact that he’s done such a good job of winning the reverse-standings Presidents Trophy.

The Oilers have re-signed Ryan O’Marra and Taylor Chorney to one year deals. Details are still to come.
I actually like what we saw from Chorney last year until he got hurt. It was a short preview though, but he came on stronger last year, maybe due to development in the AHL. Ryan O’Marra will be in tough to squeeze into the lineup, so I expect he’ll play most of the year in Oklahoma City.

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Taylor Chorney and assigned defenceman Jeff Petry to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.
I really like Petry. He showed good poise most nights, but there some plays where he had problems with the puck. So, I can why he was sent back down.. but I’m not worried. It’ll be good to give Chorney another opportunity too, and maybe he might be better for the powerplay.
