PRE-GAME RANT
Boy was I ever wrong with my prediction of the outcome of last game. Then again.. how many times have I been right? And then again, who actually thought the 30th place Oilers (made up of AHLers right now) would actually beat the Vancouver Canucks? It was fairly reminiscent of the pre-season, when the Oilers beat them (although that was a romp, and against a less than stacked Canucks team).
Anyways, I am hoping for another win tonight, so that will be my prediction. I must say, I am skeptical though. But we’ll call it a close one this time.
Prediction: 4-3 Edmonton
P.S., decided to change the game day pic up, so people would notice a new GDT was up (yes.. that is Roli).

PRE-GAME RANT
If there is a game where the Oilers should get spanked, this is it. The Oilers take on the 1st overall Canucks tonight at Rogers Arena. The Canucks have dominated the series thus far, winning all 4 games, although 3 of those games were 1 goal games (the most recent one was a 6-1 disaster). The Canucks are on a 5 game winning streak, while the Oilers have struggled to win a game in their last 11. I can’t see tonight being the night where they break out of the slump.
Prediction: 6-0 Canucks

PRE-GAME RANT
Nothing like going up against a team that has recorded points in its last 14 games (club record) after enjoying our first win after a 7 game skid. The Canucks have gone 12-0-2 in their last 14 contests and look to accomplish their first 8 game win streak since 8 years past. These are the kind of games where some crap team gets to play spoiler, so hopefully the boys are up to the challenge and can send the Sedin sisters home crying. This game kicks off a 5 game road trip for the Oilers, so hopefully a change of scenery is all they need to start winning again as last night’s win was the only of 5 games in a row at home.
Per TSN:
“Gilbert Brule bruised his abdomen, according to head coach Tom Renney, and is day-to-day. … Jim Vandermeer suffered a right ankle injury on Thursday against the Islanders and did not return to the game. He is expected back in a few of days.”

PRE-GAME RANT
Well this is good news, Hemsky, Vandermeer, and Brule took part in the morning skate although there will be no changes to the line up from last game. Promising news none the less. We’ll be battling the back up tonight with Schneider getting the start. Canucks have a lot of options for offence so hopefully a good team defensive game will be played to limit the amount of rubber sent Khabi’s direction.

PRE-GAME RANT
I have to keep this one short as I have a pretty busy day today. But, the Oil hope to continue their streak tonight when they take on the Canucks. The Oilers are 7-2-1 in their last 10. They may have gotten lucky in their last game, vs. the Lightning, when Khabibulin stole one for them. The Canucks are 5-4-1 in their last 10. They also won the only regular season game between the two teams, so far, on November 2. The final score was 4-3 for the Canucks. This was of course the game in which the NHL’s most dangerous Mexican, Raffi Torres, scored a hattrick.
I’m going to venture a guess and say the fun ride stops here tonight, for the Oilers.
Prediction: 6-3 Canucks, but I hope I’m wrong.
