GDT - Edmonton Oilers at Chicago Blackhawks
I predict a 9-1 win for the Hawks tonight. Sorry all the other fluff is out for tonight as I’m a bit behind… plus I have no idea what the lines will look like, at least from the blue line.

One fell swoop.
Well the boys played hard against Dallas last game, but the end result was another deflating defeat after a late game winner by Neal. They’ve had a few days off since then and the skills competition over the weekend, so hopefully they are in good spirits and come out with energy. The Hawks are a team you don’t want to come out flat against.
The Hawks are 6-3-1 in their last 10 and most recently lost to the Canucks on Saturday 5-1. They’ve had a few days rest and time to think about the loss, so expect them to come out firing and try to break the Oilers spirit early on.
Well, nothing like facing a team right after they’ve handed another team their asses. The Blackhawks are coming off a 7-1 punishment of the Flames and are currently on a 5 game winning streak. The Oilers consistency this year has been non-existent, but they’ve won some games that most wouldn’t have expected (ex. vs. the Avalanche twice and vs. the Predators on the road). They currently are on a lengthy one-game winning streak, with an ugly, but exciting, win over the Avalanche on Wednesday.
In recent news, the Quinn/Renney doghouse has been getting a few visitors. In the last game, Gilbert was benched for most of the 2nd period for his defensive issues. Quinn was quoted recently in regards to the teams defensemen “I don’t care that they’re offensive. I want them to defend, first.” Continue reading 'GDT – Oilers vs. Blackhawks – Nov 21, 2009 @ 8:00PM – CBC – Game 23'»
The Oilers are coming off a monster 6-1 win over Nashville on Monday in which JDD and Stortini were the story. JDD stopped 40 of 41 shots, while Stortini had 2 goals, and a fight. The Blackhawks, meanwhile, came back from 5-0 against the Flamers on Monday to win 6-5 in OT (DropIt, you’re going to need to explain how the hell that happens). At about the midway point of the 1st period, the Flames were up 5-0. Huet was chased from the net after allowing 3 goals on 5 shots. Neimi allowed the next two, but from the 2nd period on, the Blackhawks seemed to wake up.
