Hemsky asks for trade… and other Oilers news
Jordan Eberle has been recalled by the Oilers. He will play in Friday’s game. If you’re a fan of Jordan Eberle, get excited, Pierre McGuire.
The NHL’s board of Governors are currently in talks about re-doing the draft process. Suggestions are being made that the Oilers threw the season in order to land the #1 or #2 pick, and that the lottery does not prevent teams from tanking the season. Word is that the format could change as early as this years draft. The suggested format being reviewed is a random draw for each 1-14 spot for all non-playoff teams.
Taylor Hall was recently interviewed about the possibility of playing for the Oilers this year and has stated that he will not be signing with the Oilers if they are the team that wins the Hall sweepstakes. More sad news for the city!
Dany Heatley has finally accepted the original trade to the Edmonton Oilers and will be leaving the Sharks tonight to come here. The trade with the Sharks and Senators will be undone, and Cogliano, Penner and Smid will all head to San Jose.
That is all. ![]()
UPDATE: for those unaware, this of course was an April Fool’s joke
