It is indeed... Dallas Eakins in, Krueger out, apparently. I hope Eakins brings an entire new coaching staff.

Also, I thought coach at first too, but changed my mind when Rishaug tweeted saying he can confirm Maurice wasn't hired (that's who I thought they'd announce). So then I thought, OK .. not him.. probably a trade or Hall captaincy.

But TSN says they think Eakins is in, and Krueger out (no associate)

Good luck to the Barons in the AHL Western Conference Finals !!! That is a team that is firing on all cylinders right now. This is the Barons 2nd consecutive trip to the 3rd round of the AHL playoffs and Todd Nelson is making a compelling case for a job opportunity in the big leagues. I would like to see him brought up to the Oilers as an assistant coach before some other team snatches him up. His team actually improved post NHL lockout.

So Yak wasn't even nominated for the Calder even though he held the scoring lead? I figured he'd probably lose to Gallagher eventually but... Seriously???

The Oilers also fired their entire training staff since Souray was here. I think we've also seen this before where a team felt that no more damage could likely be done to a player, and they play through it. Not to give the Oilers a free pass or anything. They could have pulled the plug a little sooner, but I think when we were hanging in a playoff spot, the temptation to keep him around would have been quite strong.

At any rate, I'm sure the Oilers aren't exactly free of any blame, but just not sure all the details. If the Oilers are pushing players too hard, I suppose it's possible it could be from all the way up the chain to that guy who would play through broken ribs, among other injuries.
