PRE-GAME RANT
Holy eff! A team we don’t have a worse record than, finally. That never bodes well for us, however. Well, really nothing bodes well for us, so this is just any other game, I suppose.
It would appear that Eager is a scratch tonight with back spasms. Might be cause for concern, as he’s had troubles with that throughout the year. Teemu Hartikainen has been called up. I’m curious as to where they play him. Just simply in Eager’s spot? Probably, but I could see him making a decent impression higher up in the lineup. Problem is, he hasn’t arrived yet. So he might not even suit up for this one. Peckham is in for Sutton. Doobie gets the start.
I’ll be at this one tonight. It so happens to be Ryan Nugent-Hopkins mini-stick night. If you’re going.. get there early if you want one.

They aren’t kidding, those mini sticks are mini. At first I was like… “Sweet!” but then got it and I’m all “Ah yeah, tha makes sense”.
I hope the Oil blow the Blue Jackets out of the water. Potentially real weak goaltending for the Jackets do we better pepper the net. I wonder how much of the “bickering” will translate into a higher energy game?
damn… im not gonna get my rnh toothpick, because there is no way i am getting out of here before 7.
interesting statement by nash this morning about how management might have cashed it in for the year but the players will be trying to run up the standings. things are rosey with nash still in columbus, i see.
nash is a freakin beast. i am always in awe when i see this dude on skates. him on a speedy oiler team was a 2 hour dream i experienced this past season when the trade request news was released. sick sick sick.
from what i have been seeing our defense actually looks pretty solid –minus barker and peckham. ive really liked petry since the gilbert trade and shultz has been the positional specialist i expected (allowing a transition which is to be expected as well). i am actually happy with our top 5 whitney, petry; smid schultz;sutton, even if there is only one rhd. potter isnt terrible but you can count me in on the “get rid of” group when concerning barker and peckham. peckhams a great guy but… i wish you the best… elsewhere.
not a big dubnyk fan.
time to see who will be stalled in the ahl next year, as we make some call ups.
OIB, as a poor student, I’d gladly take a ticket off you hands if you won’t be able to use it.
As for Nash, he looks like a beast but I’ve heard mixed things on his ethic. People harp on him for points but he’s a pure goal scorer, I wonder what he could do with a top caliber center?
I got my “toothpick”. Really, they had 10,000 there, so more than half the fans left with one. And there was really no urgency to get there, although I was there quite early (just before the doors opened).
I nearly won the 50/50 too.. damn, that would have been sweet. I was 30 off, in total… but only had one number wrong (had a 6 instead of a 9 for the 2nd last number!). Never been that close.
