Sam Gagner, quietly having a good season after a very slow start

So I’ve returned from Mexico… survived the trip. Was a blast… time to get back to business here with a new post…

Not sure if others have noticed, but since he potted the first goal on the season.. actually, the game before it… Sam Gagner has had 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points in 16 games (maybe you even go back 5 more games – 5 goals, 13 assists for 18 points in 21 games) . Not too bad at all.

I think it’s no secret to people here that I’ve always been in his corner and thought he was at the bare minimum a 2nd line center, although admittedly I was getting worried and my opinion on him dropped a bit this year. But it’s good to see that since December, he’s picked things up.

Love Sam Gagne…hated hearing all the ‘trade ’em’ BS a month ago. Very glad he’s picked up his game!!

    Thanks for posting cheryl…

Yah, it’s generally not a good idea to trade a guy when his value drops anyways too.

Racki-exactly. Same thing happening w/Hemsky right now (tho I’m kinda over him, must admit)

Racki, IMO not exactly the same thing. Hemsky is a UFA at season end, pending re-signing, he can walk as of Canada day. Gagner is still very young and obviuously yet developing. If ST feels he isn’t going to sign Hemmer, he has to get something vs walking for nothing.

Yah agreed, Dawgtoy. Although I have to think that value for Hesmky won’t be as high as it could be, they’ll have to really make a choice sometime soon.
