PRE-GAME RANT

Just realized Racki is soaking up the sun on a beach in Mexico and likely consuming a Corona or dos…

Quick thread creation here before my little one notices I’m on the laptop.

Oilers are struggling of late, but happily so are the Wild. The Wild are 2-5-3 in their last 10 while the Oilers have won 3 on their skid. Someone gets to go home happy tonight! This is the 6th and final matchup of the season and the Oilers need a win to get the spilt, although they have taken points in their losses as well, so expect another close one.

Whitney is still hurting and the sinus infected Hemsky is a game time decision. Khabibulin gets the start and lineups will likely look pretty similar to the Canuck’s game.

PRE-GAME RANT

Happy Boxing Day, everyone. I hope you enjoyed your Christmases. Me, mine has really just begun, as it is now t-minus 2-days before I am out of here for Mexico.

The Oilers will play the Canucks tonight. For the two of you that haven’t seen this pic yet, I hope you enjoy it. It is completely unedited. Anyways, the Oilers have 1 win and 1 loss versus the Canucks this year. Those games came way back in October. Some of you might remember Hordichuk’s promise to keep the Canucks honest. Unfortunately he never got to really live up to that promise when an attempted hit went bad and he injured himself. But with any luck he’ll play tonight and show us what he really wanted to do.

No line ups just yet, but I hear Alex Plante is in and Theo Peckham is out. I’d imagine that Khabi will also get the start.

Edit: Hemsky continues to be out (Sinus infection), and Ryan Whitney is also out tonight, thus the Plante call up. Whitney has Tendinitis in his ankle. Nikolai Khabibulin confirmed to get the start in goal tonight.

PRE-GAME RANT

Right now it sounds like Hemsky is doubtful for tonights game (sick). The media seems to still want to bash him for his practice commitment (or lack of). It is what it is though. And well, if he’s sick, he’s sick. So if he doesn’t play, then I think the Oilers will go with the line up below. Otherwise I’m going to assume that there will be a fair difference in the 3rd/4th lines given that Gagner, Lander and Jones skated in practiced together yesterday.

Khabibulin starts tonight, which is at least good. Should be a tough game, although they all seem to be these days.

Monday Morning Standings

By , December 21, 2011 11:07 am

Merry Christmas!

Credit to Steve-O for starting this MMS, fights, pics, standings and all, but I had to fill out the rest since he got busy.

Trogdor would also like to add that “in support of Cunneyworth we are opting to do an English only MMS this week.”

Oilers news

The Oilers are 1 point out of a chance at the top pick again (they sit in 6th currently)! What the heck happened? The Oilers only injuries right now are Taylor Fedun and Cam Barker, neither of which I would consider impact players. The Oilers are a sinking ship again, and somehow Tambellini needs to save it. There’s been some talk out there though of whether the Oilers should try and save this team and just do as well as they can or whether they should be sellers and just go for another high pick. Your thoughts?
