So it’s two for one night tonight with the Oilers. I’ll be going to the game here in Edmonton, vs. the Wild. And the lucky Saskatoon bastards will get to see Ryan Nugent-Hopkins play with Smyth and Eberle. *envious*.

Next up, special teams.
The Oilers last year had a terrible powerplay (27th) and was actually worse (!) on the penalty kill (29th).
We have lots of talent that can play on the PP. Lots. And now that Hemsky is part robot, he won’t miss half the season (it helps that Regehr has fucked off to the other conference too).
And, we now have some players that can play on the PK! Huzzah!

I called last years goaltending situation a clusterfuck. It looks better this year. No really. It does. Dubnyk has proven to be at the very least a NHL level backup. That’s a plus. Khabibulin has one less year on his contract. That’s a plus. It is quite possible he learned how to be more nimble in prison too.
