PRE-GAME RANT
The Oilers have been playing some pretty poor hockey lately, which triggered a meeting between the team and General Manager Steve Tambellini. Look for a post on that shortly. I think it will work tonight.. I hope they dress MacIntyre, as I think he has a score to settle, if what I caught in the last Oil Change was any indication. Kreuger was holding him back like a pit bull on a leash, saying that “we play them again soon”. As luck (or lack of) would have it, MacIntyre did not get dressed for the follow up game.
Prediction: a fight for MacIntyre (please be dressed) and a spirited 4-3 win for the home team.

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Taylor Chorney and assigned defenceman Jeff Petry to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.
I really like Petry. He showed good poise most nights, but there some plays where he had problems with the puck. So, I can why he was sent back down.. but I’m not worried. It’ll be good to give Chorney another opportunity too, and maybe he might be better for the powerplay.

PRE-GAME RANT
First off… reminder.. OIL CHANGE TONIGHT!! It is at 5:00PM MST, so set your PVRs.
Anyways, tonight the Oilers host the Ducks in the fourth and final match-up of these two teams for the 2010/11 season. The Oilers are 1-1-1 in the series, with the last game being a 3-2 Ducks win last month. You have to figure Dubnyk will get the start today in a back-to-back, especially after Khabibulin crapped himself in the last game from the get-go. Tencer had a strange tweet early this morning though that worries me: “Khabibulin tomorrow, looking to snap his 13 game losing streak.” Does that mean he’s starting again? If so, you can only figure that they’re really trying to ensure a last place finish. Just saying. Khabibulin still says he has his confidence, but we know he’s long lost fan confidence. Anyways, I’m interested in who they play. Really they should be trying to develop Dubnyk.
Edit: It is indeed going to be Dubnyk.
As for Oil Change, we will get some taste of the Oklahoma City Barons… so that should be interesting.
Prediction: 5-2 Ducks

PRE-GAME RANT
There are few teams in the NHL that can compete with the Oilers for bottom feeder position, and this afternoon the Oilers will face one of them in the Senators. The Senators are on a worse recent skid than the Oilers, as a matter of fact. They’ve dropped their last 5 and are winless in their last 11, and their last win was nearly a month ago (1 day shy). The Oilers are no slouches in the losing department either this year, and are 2-7-1 in their last 10. This match-up could have draft pick implications… OK, I’m just building this one up needlessly… this is probably not going to be an exciting one, but I do expect an Oilers win.
Prediction: 6-1 Oilers (where did that come from?)

PRE-GAME RANT
The Oilers are on FIRE, after a commanding 4-0 victory over the Predators. Not only did they get 4 goals past one of the best goaltenders in the league (2nd in GAA, if I recall correctly), but they pitched a shutout. The playoffs are surely in sight now. Of course, I am being tongue-in-cheek here, but it was a nice win. The Hawks have lost their last 2, and currently sit below the playoff cutoff line, 3 points back of the shames.
Prediction: 5-2 Oilers. Doobie better be in net for this one…
