Again, the Oilers face another team that have a polar opposite last 10 record. The Oilers are 2-8-0 in their last 10, while the Predators are 8-2-0. The last Oilers loss, against Dallas, was a tough pill to swallow as the Oilers came flying out of the gates and looked to be in it all the way up to the 3rd period where the Stars came out to shine.
This should mark the return of Jim Vandermeer, BTW. He was playing some great hockey when he went down to injury, but I hope he can pick up where he left off. Sounds like Dubnyk will get the start, as Khabibulin missed the last two practices with an “unknown ailment”. That will likely give the Oilers a better fighting chance, the way both of these guys have been playing lately.
The Predators are a strong team right now, and have some great goaltending, so it’ll be a tough one to win.
Prediction: 3-2 Predators (SO)
