Canadian forward Zack Kassian has been suspended for two games total after receiving a match penalty on Tuesday against the Czech Republic.

Kassian received an automatic one-game ban after being assessed the match penalty for a hit to the head and neck of Czech defenceman Petr Senkerik. Tournament judge and former NHL official Dan Marouelli assessed the additional game suspension on Wednesday morning.

Kassian will miss Canada’s games tonight against Norway and Friday against Sweden. He will be eligible to return for the medal round games on the weekend.

Not calling them a cakewalk or anything, but it’s good to give Visentin some ice time. Definitely is a possibility that Visentin takes over the goaltending job at some point (permanently), so they best keep him fresh.
