PRE-GAME
Well, I’m sure everyone’s heard it by now, but the Oilers haven’t won a game in Minnesota since Taylor Hall was in diapers (13 straight losses on Minnesota home ice, to be exact). But this team has changed immensely since then.
The Oilers last game, the Oil came out pretty flat, and stayed quite flat, with the exception of “MVP” Nikolai Khabibulin. I use the term MVP with a bit of jest towards Steve Tambellini (who insists he was the team’s MVP before being hurt last year). But quite frankly, he was very solid and kept the Oilers in the game and stole that win. That’s something we really need around here, and I think the Oilers success this year does depend a lot on Continue reading 'GDT: Oilers at Wild – Game 3 – 2010-10-14 @ 6:30 PM – SNET'»

Wanna see my 'O' face?
Alright, it’s been a while since we’ve had one of these. For those of you that are newer to the site, the idea behind this is we provide a picture, you provide a tag line for the picture, or Photoshop it, or whatever (see the link above for ideas). Be creative, be dirty (note: that doesn’t mean drawing a schlong in his hand), be whatever… be funny.

Bringing in the new year with a bang!
And we are back.
Another year has started and man did I miss hockey. Hopefully everyone had a good long weekend. Oilers have just offered a 3 game mini-pack that I decided to pick up (free jersey included!) so I am now more broke than I was an hour ago.
The Oil started the year off with a bang (one that Ivanans is still feeling) and it looks as though Eberle is going to be awesome this year. I’m thinking the first game was pure adrenaline however, as we already started to see the cool off the next game and looks as thought it might get to be a tough year…but man, for one game it was like the 80′s Oilers reborn. World beaters.
In other NHL news, James Wisniewski and Sean Avery made me laugh so very very hard with their awesome game within the game yesterday. Honestly I don’t think the Wis should be suspended cause it was funny as hell, but he will be, and then Avery with his gold comment after the game “They (the NHL) won’t do anything. Imagine if I did that? They’d send me to rehab.”.
And finally, I urge everyone to read Elliotte Friedman’s 30 thoughts as its awesome as usual, and if you missed it Black Dog has a breakdown of the ’72 series which is amazing.

PRE-GAME
Well, I will again be away, but this time I’ll be out for the thanksgiving weekend. I might be online, but I don’t think I will be… I will, however, definitely be watching the game. So I’ll get this GDT all set up, as well as the chat box. I’d suggest not using the chat box until some time on game day (since the chat box is refreshed after every game… good to have some comments for posterity’s sake. Anyways, enjoy the game and go Oilers!!!
Prediction: 5-1 Oilers. Either Hall or Paajarvi light it up on the scoresheet, this time. Continue reading 'GDT: Oilers vs. Panthers – Game 2 – 2010-10-10 @ 6:00 PM – SNET1'»

How Tambellini makes his decisions...
So continuing with a tradition that we started last year, we are posting our predictions on the 2010-11 NHL season. We had this done a couple of days ago, but didn’t want yesterday’s game to stomp this post into non-existence.
Without further ado, here are our predictions for the 2010/11 Season. Please feel free to add your own in the comments… Continue reading '2010/11 Prediction Thread'»
