Exactly and also, I hate to say it but he’s a lot more expendable especially with his cap hit if he gets injured as compared to someone like Souray. When signing someone like Souray you may be getting the full package, 6’4″ 220lb+, one of the hardest shots in the league, PP specialist and brings a physical game but you are also taking a risky because of his mean streak ala. Jarome Iginla fight. Struds may not be as offensive or even defensive but for the grit he brings at the price mine as well sign him esp. if he is a “good locker room guy” and is willing to take 1mil or less.

Yah, it’s tough to argue against what you’re saying. He is a pylon, really. I like the guy a lot though.. funny as hell. But that doesn’t win hockey games. Oh well. It sucks we’re going to lose Johnson… but hopefully he doesn’t sign somewhere else until at least after Souray is gone. I’d like him back, then Strudwick can play #7 and still entertain the dressing room.
Also, I like the Petiot signing, as long as he stays in OKC.
