Jordan Eberle of the Regina Pats wins 2010 CHL Player of the Year
Congratulations to Edmonton Oilers prospect Jordan Eberle who won the CHL player of the year as a member of the Regina Pats. Eberle faced pretty stiff competition this year in the form of phenoms Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires and Tyler Seguin of the Plymouth Whalers. Even more reason to be excited about being an Oilers fan!!
Tyler Seguin won the CHL Prospect of the year award.

Cox Convention Center, home of the Oklahoma City Barons
Today, the Oklahoma City Barons hosted a live interview with Edmonton Oilers’ President of Hockey Operations Kevin Lowe and Oklahoma City Barons owner Bob Funk Jr in which fans could submit their questions. I submitted a few, myself, and logged all the ones I could catch in the spew of information that was being spit out in the chat window. Here are the questions/answers that I caught.
FYI, KL = Kevin Lowe, BF = Bob Funk Jr. Continue reading 'OKC Barons Live Chat with Kevin Lowe and Bob Funk Jr…'»

Oklahoma City Barons it is..
The Edmonton Oilers AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City has been named, and it is… *drum roll* … well you already know, since you saw the pic above, and since it’s been rumored for about a week or so now – Barons.
The Oklahoma City Barons start up in the 2010/2011 AHL Season in the Cox Covention Center which supports a pretty impressive 13,399 butts in chairs for hockey games.
Now, feel free to come to this site more often without your boss busting you for having some chick’s ass staring at him/her on your computer screen… at least for today.
Here is a shot of what the jersey will look like, from the Prodigal Hockey website:

Something to justify Racki's love for the Habs
Trogdor isn’t dead! So they made me do today’s write up…
Playoffs
Flyers moved on defeating Boston in game 7. Habs pulled a similar trick on the Pens, and the Hawks reinforced that the giant C on the Vancouver jerseys stands for CHOKE!!! Round 3 kicked off with the Flyers making the Habs look like the Hab nots with a 6-0 drubbing, chasing Halak from the net and then everyone’s favorite Canuck killer Dustin Byfuglien scored late in the 3rd to give the Hawks a 1-0 series lead over the Sharks.
Round 3 Predictions
Looks like MetalOil did the best on last rounds predictions and as before, if you have some thoughts, post them below. Here’s what the magic 8-Ball influenced picks of the POTF staffers look like for round 3. Continue reading 'Playoff predict-o-rama – Round 3! Plus MMS and other news'»
