Yeah, I’ve been an advocate of acquiring Horton for awhile now as I think he’d be perfect in our top 6, I think we’d have to add something to the pot to make that trade happen, but I ‘ve been mulling over something like Souray and Cogs for Horton and McCabe.

McCabe would be a good veteran presence on the blueline, still has talent, but is overpaid much like Souray, but he only has one year left on his contract as opposed to 2 for Souray. we could get half a season out of him then maybe we could flip him at the draft as he’d make a fantastic rental for a contender or team making a playoff push.

- “i’m sick and tired of people complaining about the city, this organization.. ‘ i don’t like the coach/manager ‘, ‘it’s too cold’..” (aka, Suck it up and play, buttercup.. be proud of the Oil crest and stuff this other B.S.)

- He seems to be indicating that the #1 pick is not up for grabs, even in exchange for #2. He wants his scouts to make the decision

- There are about 213 fuck-ups in the Oilers organization and he realizes he has a lot of work to do – “this is not a quick fix”.

edit: oh, also he said Souray asked for a trade about a year ago.

This offseason is going to be interesting if nothing else.
