PRE-GAME RANT
The Oilers head into Arizona tonight to conclude their road trip with a game against the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena. The Oilers are winless on this road trip so far, and have lost the last 4 games. The Coyotes have dropped 4 of their last 5 games, having cooled off a bit after climbing the standings quite handily. They will look to bounce back against a team that hasn’t really had much of anything go right for them this year.
Prediction: 4-2 Coyotes

GAME NOTES
- Better lineups to come, closer to the start.
- Brule is likely out due to a high ankle sprain. One of Nilsson or O’Sullivan (or both) should draw in.
- UPDATE @ 15:00MST: O’Sullivan and Nilsson are both back in, still TBD as to who’s out. Brule is one of the guys out.
- Brule’s ankle isn’t broken, but he will likely be out for the remainder of the season, according to the Oilers’ twitter.
- UPDATE @ 20:00MST: Potulny is the healthy scratch tonight.
- Tencer’s twitter: “Speculation has it that the Oilers met with Finnish goaltending prospect Jussi Rynnas in Phoenix earlier today…”

Phoenix Coyotes 3
Aw man. Crossbar with the save
JEFF D!!!!
great save JDD
WOWWWWWWWW!!!! THAT WAS SIIIICK!!!!
Ow… Beauty save though.
OH jesus Deslauriers… give him the god damn win already
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
crap
well that stinks.
Aw man… Too bad. Still need 4 points before the season ends.
Such a thriller! I feel so bad for JD! He really deserved the W, too bad the refs were absolutely garbage tonight… not gonna play the blame game but seriously…
What’s JDD got to do for that win? Damn… sucks to see that!
Well first star for the big man in goal
Well It’s been fun guys, I need to watch more games with my computer in from of my face. I had so much fun during the web broadcasts during training camp. And yet my lazy ass likes to be sitting on the couch with beer in hand during games. An epic struggle is sure to follow.
Hopefully the Oilers dont shit the bed next year and the GDT’s can flourish on The Foil. I’m guilty of not posting as much as I used to, hard enough to watch every game let alone cry violently to you gentlemen as well lol.
Take care everyone, cya next game
It’s good to see more than one page of comments on here tonight. Nice to have a few people around again, but like you say Puritania, better performances by the team will lead to more blog interest.
Yup – and yet according to the official NHL.com gamesheet, all 3 stars go to Coyotes, figures. What an epic shootout, and out-shot in the game as well. Props to JD. It’s frustrating to not get the win, but I think he’s going to look back at this season in a few years time and realize how much it did for his development. I really do think he has a future in this league as a starter, he just needs to work on his consistency. He’s definitely got the desire and competitiveness, and the past 2 seasons have been huge for his mental toughness.
So with this loser point are we now only tied for being the worst team since the lockout? That was my only goal since we got eliminated (without giving up our draft spot).
Geesh, yah I heard that after, that the Coyotes swept the stars by the NHL. But CBC did give JDD 1st star by their count on the broadcast.
Penner up to 29 now right? Hoping he hits 30, and its at home
Yes he has 29, it was a bit of a weak goal but you can see he actually tried shooting it to bank it off of Bryz! 4 games remaining 1 goal needed for Penner to hit 30 and say a big F-YOU to a few certain people
For anyone who has been following Penner, this is his best season yet for point production and he is about to break his milestone in goals! Great to see for the guy!
Yah I sure as hell hope he can do it… and for sure it would be nice to see it done at home so he can get some love from the same fans that were a-holes to him.
