PRE-GAME RANT
The Oilers head into Arizona tonight to conclude their road trip with a game against the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena. The Oilers are winless on this road trip so far, and have lost the last 4 games. The Coyotes have dropped 4 of their last 5 games, having cooled off a bit after climbing the standings quite handily. They will look to bounce back against a team that hasn’t really had much of anything go right for them this year.
Prediction: 4-2 Coyotes

GAME NOTES
- Better lineups to come, closer to the start.
- Brule is likely out due to a high ankle sprain. One of Nilsson or O’Sullivan (or both) should draw in.
- UPDATE @ 15:00MST: O’Sullivan and Nilsson are both back in, still TBD as to who’s out. Brule is one of the guys out.
- Brule’s ankle isn’t broken, but he will likely be out for the remainder of the season, according to the Oilers’ twitter.
- UPDATE @ 20:00MST: Potulny is the healthy scratch tonight.
- Tencer’s twitter: “Speculation has it that the Oilers met with Finnish goaltending prospect Jussi Rynnas in Phoenix earlier today…”

Phoenix Coyotes 3
The most interesting number in this game will probably be the attendance figure, however jazzed up it is with free ticket giveaways
Updated the game notes.
Gilbert, Penner, & Cogliano are the only players to have played every game so far. How is Penner after taking a puck to the eye area? It’s been nice to see the Oilers score goals in bunches to tie things up, now if they could just finish it off. It would be nice if they won their last few games now that they have clinched their position. — sigh; now who do I watch in the playoffs? —
As per your game notes, “better lineups to come…” — I am waiting for that day… about September/ October right?
turned the ol telly on to watch the first half of the double header when CBC decided to make sure I didn’t get pumped up at all by playing this version of a great song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pne64GKjUaQ
I really don’t understand why they switched from the original awesome version

That womans awful voice makes me sad.
Anyways, I’d love to see the Oil win some damn games before this shit season ends.
so whats the total man games lost with Brule out now? around 350,455? somewhere around there.
My prediction
Coyotes 4
Oil 2
LOL at the better lineups zinger…
And also, the Oilers are proving that their 30th place tank was completely unintentional. They just plain stink it up this year, unfortunately.
According to Tencer’s twitter: “Speculation has it that the Oilers met with Finnish goaltending prospect Jussi Rynnas in Phoenix earlier today…”
And 1-0 for the bad guys…
I’d call them the not us guys. They are a bit of a feel good story this year during a season of suck.
Stop exposing our young D…
OHHH myyy Jones scores!
Jones with the goal! Storts looking like Doug Weight out there.
YEAH JONES WAY TO BATTLE!!!! 1-1! On other news Falcons lose 6-1 but Eberle scores the lone goal, he is currently 8gp – 9pts (aww yeah 17 AHL games 18 points so far
)
As for the Windsor/Whalers series… Hall had 1g1a tonight, and +2, Seguin 0 pts, and -2….
Hall is really pushing hard!
LOL I swear I just saw him dangle….
This is a letter addressed to Kevin Weekes. (This is the appropriate place for him to see this letter right?)
Dear Mr. Weekes,
The Edmonton Oilers are a 30th place club. They are one of the worst teams in Oiler history. This team is filled with AHLers. Everyone around the game of hockey knows that they could not play a shoddier game if they wore beekeeper outfits that had africanized killer bees inside of the very suits meant to keep nasty colonies of bees off of the skin.
please stop sounding surprised and annoyed in every broadcast when the Oilers make a large number of mistakes.
Yours truly, Puritania
LOL nicely put, Puritania!
lol it had to be said my friend.
Hmmm… not my favorite goal against..
And it’s come back time again
Not sure about Weekes’ vision. Didn’t look like a head shot to me.
Another message to Weekes… Arsene is nearly 30. Also, not every hit is a big, ugly, monster of a suspendable hit.
hallelujah JDD, what saves..
could you guys imagine a Loubardias + Weekes combo?
*huddles into the corner while being wracked with sobs*
Don’t forget Pierre between the benches.
lmao, ty for putting me in a terror induced coma
One of these days I will play this game during the world juniors or any old TSN broadcast. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=info&ref=ts&gid=406336770555
Dangling Poo?
LOL trogdor… the Oilers are prairie doggin it..
Nice way to start the interview… Ice Edge guy: “Should i look into the camera?” Scott Oake: “No me”….. look me in the eyes!
Eberle’s goal tonight:
Right place, right time there.
The Scott Oake cannot cover it’s prey with stomach enzymes and digest it before eating it without holding it’s prey in a hypnotic gaze.
What a truly wonderous lunatic you are mother nature.
lol puritania, you’re on fire tonight.
I’m in a strangely good mood tonight lol. It’s turning up my weird factor slowly notch by notch.
hahaha good stuff. That’s generally how I work too. Trogdor and Steve-O generally see this mysterious effect at work.
In my experience work is when that strange effect dominates the psyche the most.
Hence why I am better described as “dirty street urchin” than “average member of society.”
Am I wrong to assume handjobs were being freely handed out during that last break in action? chill out horrible broadcasters!
yay!
ohh penz
“That was a bad goal! The goalie did everything right in this situation.”
-Hockey Guru Kevin Weekes
Stepped away for a bit, and low and behold we’re tied. I better leave again.
Johnson stood him up nicely there.
was a nice hit, would love to see more of that from the Oil next season.
Good pressure by the boys there. Good time for a PP goal.
man I coud go for a bench clearing brawl.
Gah! so close.
I was hoping it would go off the D into the net, but no dice. Another shoot out.
Grrrreat save, Jeff D!
Knob of the stick with a big save there.
Hmm… Allowed to throw the stick? You know Weekes will side with the tender.
Send Linglet out for the next shot!
JDD is doing his part.
unbelievable that there are no goals so far
