Oilers recall Chris Minard from Springfield
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled forward Chris Minard on an emergency basis from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Minard, 28, has 25 points (15G, 10A) in 31 games this year with the Falcons. He will be playing in his first game as an Edmonton Oiler after signing with the club in the offseason.

He’s 28 and was playing in the A, so don’t get too excited.. but I hope he can surprise us like Potulny or Stone.
Looks like a solid grinder. Hopefully a good soldier that doesn’t make a difference in our Fall for Hall.
I wouldn’t bank on him making too much of a difference, especially offensively. Yeah he puts up decent AHL numbers but his only NHL action seen was in Pittsburgh where he put up 2 points in 15 games and 3 in 20 on 2 separate call ups…
Good call up, will keep the lights on and not matter if he takes an injury. Just what we need to close out this nightmare of a season.
I’ve been impressed with his game tonight. Looks like a decent prospect.
At this point I’m not sure we can call him a prospect (he’s 28). But good to hear he played well.
Yeah, not really a prospect, but new to us. He looks alright to me for a filler and farm hand. He looked like he fit in.
