Monday Morning Standings – Busy at Work Edition
Hey Everyone, I’m sure that a game day will come up soon (as Racki just waits until I post something), but I figured I’ll get a MMS up and out.
As for the Oilers, they looked great against San Jose. Best game I’d seen in a long long time.
As for this talk of trading Hemsky, well, its stupid. You do not trade good players on beauty contracts. Well, not if you are a good, smart, intelligent person…jury is still out on Tambellini however. Same with that reporter saying Gagner is in play! Really!

And in the pool, first round of the playoffs are underway with Trogdor and myself currently doing battle; Johnny O’Dangles and retrochick are also going toe to toe in the first round. gr8one and Racki are waiting in the wings and getting rusty.

I believe Lowetide states it best,
I realize that people are still waiting for Hemsky to have that “break out year”, but to consider trading him now that we’re on the verge of actually having guys to play with him seems pretty silly to me, too…
Seriously, 3 years of UFA chasing to find somebody to play with Hemmer (and to the detriment of signing other FA), and now somebody’s suggesting we trade him off for a draft pick. I’m sure somebody wanted a chance at Daigle, but that wouldn’t have turned out so well – especially not for (arguably) the best player on the team.
Has anyone thought of the possibility that we want to trade for another Top 3 pick so we can take both Windsor Spitfire teammates(Hall & Fowler)? or would it be more reasonable to to assume we would then be selecting Hall & Seguin ?
I dunno… heard some bad stuff about Fowler. Not sure how true it is though. But I don’t think I’d want to give up a lot for a guy that is potentially all speed but nothing else.
