PRE-GAME RANT
Well, the Oilers are now on a big 2 game winning streak, after taking it to Dany Heatley and the San Jose Sharks on Sunday. Those guys are in serious trouble, as they seem to be falling into their annual, end of the year / playoff meltdown already. The Oilers seem to be playing a bit better, in light of having the weight of the world off their shoulders now, and also a bit more improved defensive play, for the most part (despite having a pretty inexperienced crew) – although they definitely need to work on holding a lead, as usual. As far as the Canucks, they seem to be going fairly strong, being 6-2-2 in their last 10.
Vancouver has taken 4 of the 5 games so far this season. I think they’ll likely take this one as well.
Prediction: 5-2 Vancouver

Vancouver Canucks 2
.
hmm, I wonder if they’ll call in Jung again.
He is somewhere on the west coast according to the article.
wish they call up oliver roy
Olivier*
Damn.. I read really quick and thought you said they DID call him up. Bummer.
Yah that would be great, hey?
so the back up is???
U of C’s Nathan Deobald.
Well he qualifies – his last name starts with a ‘D’. Kid must be so pumped!!
Oh great now I have to listen to these Sportsnet Pacific guys
These guys are the most biased and delusional broadcasters out there.
Well right this exact moment, Olivier & the Screaming Eagles are at the 5:00 mark of OT vs Moncton Wildcats. The game is tied 2-2 and Cape Breton is down 2-0 in the series. The Oilers may have taken that into consideration!
edit – Ouch Moncton just scored. Now the Eagles are down 3 games to none. Roy might become available soon!
Gilbert !!!
Great work by Penner drawing that PP!
Wow – that was quick. Not watching yet. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Isles beat the Nucks last week, sure would be nice to see the Oilers beat them as well!
Nilsson Dangles to a goal again !!!!
I am really starting to change my opinion on Gilbert lately. He is re-energized playing with Whitney.
Leafs are down 3-0, that’s no good.
Oh how selfish of me, I never even considered that he’d be needed in Cape Breton.. lol
Amazing the difference a linemate can make, hey?
Yeah It’s like we got 2 players out of that trade for Lubes!
haha good way to put it!
Hey fellas – sorry I’m late. Just got in off the golf course (and yes, I’m rubbing that in)… LOL.
Looks like the boys have been playing a good game. Or is the score not indicative of the play?
Wow – 3 in a row, 2 against top teams in the West… Nice to see they’re not completely dead.
I think the team is now just 1 point back of 56 pts (the lowest point total since the lockout). Hopefully they can at least avoid that dubious distinction…
Wow, I was holding my breath the last 3 minutes. The Oilers played well, JDD was solid. Nice to see both our goalies happy (well I don’t think DD is too happy right now, since he’s sick, but I’m talking about the recent W’s!).
Future is bright
