PRE-GAME RANT
Well, so far we’ve got the Habs number this season, although we’ve only played them once… It was way back on October 10th, when the Oil were healthy and the fans were excited. A 3-2 win for the home team. My oh my how the times have changed. We’re heading into Montreal to play against a team that appears to be coming together at the right time for a playoff push. Winners of 4 of their last 5, they’re probably looking forward to this match up more than we are. This is Montreal’s last game against a Western opponent, so their playoff chances look good. In the pipes Deslauriers has looked a lot more comfortable lately, but some of my dodgy sources are reporting Dubnyk will get the start tonight. For the Oil, Minard has been called up and will likely see some action as Moreau is questionable, and O’Sullivan is hanging out at home.

Not that I am cheering for a win, but I would love to see us wipe the smirks off the Hab’s fans faces. Especially since the Eastern media has all but declared this game already over and the win in the bag.

Moreau is out for tonight, and it sounds like Minard will line up with Gagner and Pouliot. I guess that would mean Nilsson will play with Cogs and Brule.

Wow, turned the TV on just in time to see us get lit up on possibly the first shot, then we come back and do the same. Not the start I expected, and bang, we’re up 2-1!
Any records for getting scored on with the first shot this season?

4 goals in 10 minutes? Bet Dubnyk was happy when the boys got the lead back, but it didn’t last long. Things need to settle down a bit, although it’s been an entertaining pace so far.

Minard is looking pretty good.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 5:43 pm Trogdor(Quote)
This powerplay is making us look like peewees. Don’t take any more penalties.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 6:13 pm Racki(Quote)
Damn it i forgot it was an early one.
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 6:16 pm gr8one(Quote)
why does the the “scoring by period” box have “ANA” beside the Habs logo?
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 6:18 pm Racki(Quote)
Hey Trogdor, if you’re paying attention… in the shot box you have “ANA” instead of “MTL” beside montreal’s logo. I’d fix it, but you’re in there and will likely just undo my change if I change it.
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 6:20 pm gr8one(Quote)
I know an Ana…she’s really hot.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 6:22 pm Racki(Quote)
Ana likes your Banana?
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 6:22 pm Racki(Quote)
I’ve fixed it, until Trogdor inevitably updates it and possibly makes it go back to “ANA”. We run a pretty smooth ship here, as you can see.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 6:39 pm Trogdor(Quote)
I thought we were playing the Anaheim Habs…
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 6:51 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Tied up! Penner with some aggression!
Too bad I have Halak in one of my pools though.
Scratch that, Cogs swoops in and pots it.

Formerly the Mighty Habs of Anaheim

Oh man… That looked weak…
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 6:55 pm gr8one(Quote)
lol
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 6:59 pm gr8one(Quote)
it’s kind of surreal watching Oiler games lately and actually find them to be enjoyable.
I also to have to think if we were in the East, we might actually be playoff team or at least definitely not fighting for last place.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 6:59 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Win or lose, it’s been a fun one to watch at least tonight. Pretty much wide open.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:00 pm Racki(Quote)
I love Theo Peckham, and I’m not afraid to tell the world!
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:00 pm gr8one(Quote)
bah…and Whitney is hurt.
is Springfield even going to have a team left to play?
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:01 pm Racki(Quote)
Yah for sure… their definitely is a big difference between East and West play.
4-3 Montreal…
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:01 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Aww… Tucks it under the bar.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:02 pm Racki(Quote)
I saw them point out what happened, but did they say how bad it was?
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:03 pm Racki(Quote)
Wow, Horcoff! He’s picked it up a bit post Olympic break, no?
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:04 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Horcs? WTF?!?!? Hooray though!
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:04 pm gr8one(Quote)
lol..just terrible goaltending across the board in this game…wth happened to Halak’s Oly form?
I picked him up in one of my pools and it’s kinda not working out to well.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:05 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Halak was a bit weak on that one. One of those goals the coach can point out to kids. Shoot and see what happens!
Penner, so close!
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:05 pm Racki(Quote)
Holy, Penner! I thought the scouting report on him was that he was slow….? Always said his speed was underrated. Markov may have been tired though, but still I think Penner is quicker than he appears.. he just tends to conserve a lot of his energy at times…
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:06 pm gr8one(Quote)
no…I was more ranting than anything.
I saw it happen, he blocked a shot and hobbled off the ice, but I really have no idea how bad it is.
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:09 pm gr8one(Quote)
the leafs are currently half a period away from getting at least one point too.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:12 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Penner looks huge next to the Habs.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:13 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Didn’t think it was that nice earlier, but that feed from Comrie should have been a goal.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:20 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Time to get Arsene on the phone?
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:22 pm gr8one(Quote)
I keep saying it, but man I <3 Brule.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:22 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Penner had to know his man had come on by then. Kind of makes up for the non call on Brule though.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:30 pm Trogdor(Quote)
More PP killing in OT. Would suck to end pre shootout when Double D is so close to his first win.
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:31 pm gr8one(Quote)
Toronto gets at least one point, heading to OT as well, so that’s good.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:32 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Horcs! Cmon… Dooby would have bought you dinner.
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:35 pm gr8one(Quote)
what a game!
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:36 pm gr8one(Quote)
woo hoo and Toronto wins!
you’re right Racki, that does feel dirty.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:36 pm Racki(Quote)
Horcoff, shootout winner.. book it.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:39 pm Racki(Quote)
Unbook it!
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:41 pm gr8one(Quote)
man that boy can shoot the puck…damn crossbar.
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:41 pm Trogdor(Quote)
So many regulation goals, now nothing.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:43 pm Racki(Quote)
Welp, a loss, but a good game nonetheless. And 1 point closer to the #1 pick.
By gr8one, March 11, 2010 @ 7:43 pm gr8one(Quote)
lol…poor fucking doobie!!!!
great game though, good effort, entertaining, and Toronto gains a point on us!
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:44 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Dang. I wonder if Quinn gives the reins back to JDD again now with his win and your in mantra.
By Racki, March 11, 2010 @ 7:48 pm Racki(Quote)
Thanks for looking after tonight’s GDT, Trogdor.. good work!
By Trogdor, March 11, 2010 @ 7:49 pm Trogdor(Quote)
Canes and Leafs with wins tonight and NYI get 1 point too. Wouldn’t have been a bad night for Devan to get his first win.
