You know you do..

Happy holidays to all. We’ll be off enjoying/enduring our own Christmas activities the next couple of days (although maybe posting here and there). But we’ll return full time on boxing day with two game day threads: Canada vs. Latvia (1:30pm start) and Edmonton at Vancouver (8:00 start). Until then, may the eggnog be well spiked, especially if you’re spending Christmas with the extended family / in-laws!

This logo took me a damn long time...

PRE-GAME RANT

Hey everyone!  How are we all doing on this fine day.  It is my last day of work this week, and then its time to sit on my ass and do nothing.

I happened to be at the last game (row 6!) and, well, the team sucked.  It wasn’t a total waste as one of my favorite players was Winchester and he had a pretty good game, but other than that it was pretty much the suck.

I imagine this is what coyote fans feel like most of the time.

Anyways the team will win this one because now we all don’t expect it.  And thats how they roll.

Oh, and canada keeps winning at the juniors.  I noticed a couple of our picks playing for finland (I think) and they looked decent, as did Eberle, so things are looking up!

And just say no to tanking.  As I mentioned in the comments in the last post (and to Samus), you don’t need to tank and draft well to get good, just look at the ’06 team (and the number of rookies on it).  Cheap, reliable vets.

How does this happen?

And with a thunk (7-2 loss) the Oilers are officially last in the West. The holiday roster freeze is currently in effect, meaning we can’t make any moves right now (except in an emergency).

Really though, this team needs work. I wore a “virtual” brown bag on my head in hopes of MacTavish getting canned. I do think the firing was the right thing to do, and in the end I think we have the better coach. However, I can now say that this team wasn’t a bad team because of coaching. Easy logo, I just half assed it...

PRE-GAME RANT

Right now would be a great time for the Oilers to make another run and get back into the mix as we currently are rocking the last spot in the conference, plus if the laffs get more points than the oilers I shall have to eat a whole lot of crow, and I don’t want that.

That said, I think we have played the Blues pretty well the last few years.

On time again!!!

But really its just because I’m at work this week and not all that much work is going to get done.

Luckily we get to see the Oilers going full bore into the season, giving shit away left and right.
