Monday Morning NHL Standings, Quarter 1 Report

Holy shit...

Holy shit...

Ummmm, where was I….oh yes. I tried googling for a picture of a news anchor and well, you see what I found. Name is Melissa Theuriau for you lazy buggers.

Anyways, here is the Monday morning standings (still one day late!), and this one is super special…its the quarterly report edition.

We can start to see which teams are for real, and any early starters that were not actually any good have since dropped back to their usual place.

Oilers…well, they need to start winning now while the gap is still reasonable. If we let anymore wins go we may need to start cheering for good development seasons from the kids.

Racki, Trogdor and myself have a full post coming up with a quarterly report card so to speak, so keep an eye out for that.

That logo is suprisingly difficult to do

That logo is suprisingly difficult to do

Well, coming off a pretty crappy loss against Atlanta. Its Monday. I’m at work. Eskies lost yesterday.

I’ll leave the rest of this open for Racki to add his detailed analysis, however its getting to the point where we have to stop using the flu and injuries as excuses. This team needs to play better in all areas.

I still say we win this one though. 4-3. Continue reading 'GDT – Oilers 2, Blue Jackets 3 (SO) – Nov 16, 2009 @ 5:00PM – SNET – Game 21'»

That kid is BACK… on the escalator again!

By , November 16, 2009 9:08 am
Breakfast, shmreakfast. Look at the score, for Christ's sake. It's only the second period and I'm up 12 to 2. Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime

Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator.

One of my favorite movies all time is Mallrats (along with Army of Darkness and Half Baked). So any reason I can to post anything about it and I will. One such reason is here.

I’m sure that everyone has already seen it, but I just wanted to post the link. I find it interesting that the glory years can impact someone 25 years later, and also like the fact that he now reps the Oil.

GDT - Edmonton Oilers at Atlanta Thrashers

Well, another PPV for this afternoon’s game (there is still one more to go this month). The Oilers head into this one after back to back losses in which they played well enough to win (with one of them being a shootout loss in Ottawa). Atlanta is on a 3 game winning streak, including hammering the Kings Friday by a score of 7-0. Kovalchuk, Afinogenov and Kane each had 2 goal games and will be players to watch today. O’Marra sent back to Springfield / Arsene recalled

By , November 12, 2009 6:36 pm

According to the Oilers Twitter, Ryan O’Marra has been sent back down. You have to figure that Shawn Horcoff will be back next game, given that the Oilers recently lost Reddox to injury.

Edit (Nov 14): The Oilers have now recalled defenseman Dean Arsene from Springfield.
