Khabibulin’s Mask Dented By Chara Slapshot
Is there a better advertisement for the 50th anniversary of the goaltender mask? I don’t think so.

I believe Rolie had his mask broken last year. That may be a better one.
Goalies would be crazy nowadays to play without a mask.
Larmer did one of those to Salo with the Hasek style mask one year in a world cup.
Cool graphic find. Chara had a pretty effective game vs. us recently all things considered. That’s quite the shot!
I wonder what would happen with a (healthy) Souray slapshot connecting on a goalie mask?
The one I always remember is MAB’s shot to the mask of Mike Smith. It was scary the way Smith went down and seeing both Oiler and Stars players immediately calling for the trainers. His mask was broken and I remember Turco on the bench giving him tape to fix it! He kept playing but couldn’t come out after the intermission because he was too dizzy, he was out for a bit with a mild concussion after that. I imagine Souray’s shot would have the same effect, but he’s pretty good at keeping it low.
