And now we know who has all the talent on this site...
PRE-GAME RANT
Well, its been a while since I’ve been able to put anything up here due to vacation, hockey games, concerts and work being stupid busy but I figured that I’ll give Racki a break and take care of today’s game day thread.

Needless to say we’ll kick their asses tonight. Hope to see you all in the comments as we all get our drink on.
Also be sure to check out Lowetide, MC79hockey, Tom Benjamin and BDHS. Lots of good stuff up that I’ve been reading lately.

POST-GAME SUMMARY (by Racki)
Wow, what a game. The Oilers completely dominated the Panthers. The Panthers, to their credit, came out with a pretty piss-poor line up (much like the previous two teams we’ve faced).
This night was Mike Comrie night. Comrie assisted on all 4 goals and was an integral part in just about all of them. Upon receiving the assist on the 3rd goal, the fans were quick to cheer Comrie when his name was called. Early in the 3rd, Comrie got into it with Eric Himelfarb. Comrie handled him quite well. Once the fight was over, the crowd began to chant “COMRIE! COMRIE! COMRIE!”. Yah I think the fans have put that mess from 6 years ago behind them.
JF Jacques was also fantastic tonight. He through a couple of big hits, including one after stepping out of the box in which he just completely stopped a Panther dead in his tracks. Adam Keefe came to the player’s aid and he was handled fairly easily by JFJ, despite the takedown. That was Keefe’s second fight of the night, and second loss. Early in the first, Strudwick pounded on Adam Keefe with a flurry of punches to which Keefe didn’t seem to have an answer for.
Overall this game was dominated by the Oilers, but credit to Khabibulin for his first shut out as an Oiler (albeit in pre-season versus a weak line up). Hopefully there are many more where that came from.
GOAL SUMMARY
04:59 Edmonton Chorney Assists: Comrie, Stone
07:47 Edmonton O’Sullivan Assists: Comrie, Stone
15:08 Edmonton Horcoff (power-play) Assists: Comrie, Gilbert
17:15 Edmonton Jacques (power-play) Assists: Comrie, O’Sullivan

lol awesome graphic Steve-o
I’m going to be watching ‘Rocky’ Stone tonight, hope he has a killer game. I would love to see this kid crack the lineup. His size and gumption will be needed this season.

haha, that artwork is pure gold…
think there is any chance the Panthers might forget about Horton and leave him behind?
man he’d look good in Oilers silks.

Hey yeah, awesome graphic! When I saw the graphic, I was expecting a guest post on the POTF blog by Wayne Gretz from OilersNation.
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 3:00 pm Racki(Quote)
Love the graphic.. seriously puts me to shame. I’ll have to up my game!
P.S., the site is dog ass slow today, not sure what our host is doing right now.

Hey guys have you checked out the article on Stepan Novotny on coming down the pipe. Be nice if the oil could sign that kid. On another note does anyone know what happened to that Russian D the oil had in rookie camp. I thought everyone was saying he had a pretty good showing. He sounded to me he was a little like Konstantinov who used to play for the wings.
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 7:06 pm Steve-O(Quote)
Well, the game is starting. Feed seems pretty good.
Based on that panther roster (lots of veterans) and the fact that the oil are putting out lots of kids I kinda expect a loss

that anthem sucked
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 7:11 pm Steve-O(Quote)
good fucking fight. I like strudwick as a 7th d/13th forward
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:13 pm Racki(Quote)
Oh man, seriously.. that was the worst I’ve ever heard anybody sing the national anthem, aside from Rosanee Barr.
And yes, Strudwick ripped Keefe apart.
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:14 pm Racki(Quote)
Dallas: I will read up that article on Novotny after the game probably.
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:14 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)

By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:20 pm Racki(Quote)
I watched Brennan on some celebrity rehab show. The guy was a complete douche.

Holy shit, nice hit, nice scrap
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:24 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)
Yeah, he was very good back then–always worried about him being on the ice. Haha, I had no hope of making the NHL, but it’s cool to have played against one person who did lol.
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:28 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)
As for Reinprecht, is it just me or is he getting a ton of icetime, lol?
Yeah, JFJ–nice hit and work!!!
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 7:29 pm Steve-O(Quote)
haha, horcoff highlight real song had the lyrics “just want to be loved”
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:29 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)
I know it’s preseaon only, but is it just me or is our PK system looking a hell of a lot better this year?
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:35 pm Racki(Quote)
Yah, I think it has been looking good, but yes, keep in mind we’ve so far played two teams with pretty crappy line ups.
Not so sure if this Florida line up is all that better either..
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 7:37 pm Steve-O(Quote)
brule with brennan and stortini – step up or is o’marra being rewarded with better linemates?
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:41 pm Racki(Quote)
Who puts replays up in the middle of action? Amateurs.
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 7:42 pm Steve-O(Quote)
kessel to toronto for picks? someone else would have given more
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:46 pm Racki(Quote)
Trying to figure out why this site is slow as heck, not having any luck. But best I could find is that quite a few people have had troubles with WordPress and GoDaddy in the past with slow issues. It could just be coincidence though, so still trying to figure out ways to speed this crap up.
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:49 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)
Racki, yeah that’s why I said, “PK system.” lol
They’re clearly not shutting down the elite of the league, but the system looks good so far.
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:50 pm Racki(Quote)
Hmm, interesting… why wouldn’t Burke just offersheet if he gave up two firsts and a second though? I think that price is actually a 1st, 2nd, 3rd rounder.
Too proud to do it after tearing into Lowe?
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:55 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)
You’ve gotta love the JFJ hit… Dude wasn’t even skating… just standing there and leans into the guy to knock him down on his a**.
By Hockey Noob, September 18, 2009 @ 7:56 pm Hockey Noob(Quote)
Racki, yeah I was wondering the same thing about the Leafs’ deal.
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 7:58 pm Racki(Quote)
So I think tonight I’m going to try disabling every single plugin and see if that speeds things up (then activate one by one until I figure out which one is slowing this down.. if its even plugin related). Oi!
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 8:01 pm Steve-O(Quote)
espn one is new…disable them shits
By Steve-O, September 18, 2009 @ 8:03 pm Steve-O(Quote)

By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 8:12 pm Racki(Quote)

By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 8:27 pm Racki(Quote)

WheRr is all the comments
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 9:08 pm Racki(Quote)
Are they ok now, or are you still seeing a prob? Because they’re fine to me right now..
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 9:14 pm Racki(Quote)
1. Chorney from Stone (possible assist to Comrie to come)
2. O’Sullivan from Comrie (not sure if there was a 2nd assist)
3. Horcoff from Comrie, Gilbert
4. JFJ from O’Sullivan, Comrie
After his second assist, the fans cheer Comrie’s name.
After the fight, the fans start chanting loudly “COMRIE! COMRIE! COMRIE!”
By Racki, September 18, 2009 @ 9:17 pm Racki(Quote)
What a hit by Brennan… dirty? Probably. But who the hell is going to drop the mits with him. Why not? Reminds me of Big Mac when he plowed over Boyd. He knew that he wouldn’t have to worry about fighting anyone that could do damage to him (Prust is nowhere in his weight class).
By steve-o drunk, September 18, 2009 @ 9:27 pm steve-o drunk(Quote)
Comments seem fine now I was just wondering if there were any comments during the second
By steve-o drunk, September 18, 2009 @ 11:11 pm steve-o drunk(Quote)
Wasn’t it 4-0?
By Dallas, September 18, 2009 @ 11:44 pm Dallas(Quote)
Lmao @ Steve O at 8:03 your off to drink and just Steve O. By 8:57 your Steve O drunk too funny. Great game tonight by most of the boys. This team is DEEP. The futures so bright I gotta wear shades. I sure hope Jauques and Stone and Brule can keep it up. Incredible game by Comrie. Think Comrie and Osully got some pretty good chemistry going GO OIL
