Philipe Cornet - 1 of 13 players cut from the Edmonton Oilers Roster today
The Edmonton Oilers reduced their roster to 48 bodies today.
As per the Oilers:
The Edmonton Oilers have reduced their training camp roster with the assignment of 13 players today.
Assigned to Springfield (AHL):
Jamie Bates (RW), Jordan Bendfeld (D), Kelly Czuy (RW), Jesse Dudas (D), Riley Emmerson (LW), Colton Fretter (LW), Bryan Lerg (LW), Ryan MacMurchy (RW), Matt Nickerson (D), Andrew Perugini (G), Cody Wild (D)
Assigned to Barrie (OHL):
Dalton Prout (D)
Assigned to Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL):
Philipe Cornet
The Oilers now have 48 players on their roster.
Edmonton Oilers hockey is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial, TELUS and Ford.
On tuesday, the Oilers also assigned goaltender Bryan Pitton to Springfield of the AHL and Olivier Roy back to Cape Breton of the QMJHL.

Yup, agreed. No real surprises here yet. And yes, it’ll be tough getting it in the 30s.

My guesses are the next to go are:

After that there will be another cut where the top prospects and bubble guys go like:

Yah both Rajala and Peckham are hurt. I think Rajala’s was a knee or something (looked pretty bad at first, but apparently he’ll be fine) and Peckham hurt his ankle.
I see the same sort of cuts, although with there being a while left in the pre-season, I think we’ll see one big cut with most of the names listed (maybe 10-ish players), and then they’ll think long and hard about the real bubble players. Except of course Schremp will stay up here and Pouliot will get cut. Juuust kidding
Poo looked like one of the better players against the Islanders
And based on the game day post, i’m missing players that are at camp that are not on the roster page (like Lazo, Linglet, Brennan etc)
