Here’s a little something to get things going… people have been talking that SJ’s trades today freed up cash for Heatley. Anyone revisiting the old Souray to San Jose rumor again? Defencemen moved.. they have the cash for him. Granted, they BARELY have the cash for him and still have other needs. But perhaps the Oil swing a deal in which they move Souray and a player or two and pick up some bigger names in return (with the salary numbers evening out).
Just throwing some crazy ideas out there. Ultimately, I’d hate to see Souray go. But if we picked up a pretty quality player in return, however…

UPDATE: From Dan Tencer’s twitter: “Oilers management has consulted at least one member of the veteran leadership group regarding Mike Comrie. It’s appears to be serious. Also, I’m told that Comrie is fully on board with a return to Edmonton.” Like it or not, this thing has legs.

* – UPDATE: Dan Tencer says confirmation of this sale is a bit pre-mature. The Katz Group has agreed to purchase the land, however the transaction is not finalized yet.
The Edmonton Sun has an article in which they update us on the latest goings on with the proposed new arena for the Edmonton Oilers. * – For those of you that missed it, the Katz group recently bought the 3 square block area around the Baccarat Casino.
