Current Oilers play for Knights in Euro Can Cup
The London Free Press posted an article today about Rob Schremp, who is currently playing for the London Knights Pro team in the Euro Can Cup. In addition to Schremp, the London Knights Pro team features current Edmonton Oilers Sam Gagner and Marc Pouliot (the three play the top PP together), and former Oilers Dan Syvret and Alex Henry. Sam’s dad Dave also has made an appearance in the first game, in which both of the Gagner’s each scored 2 goals. Full London Knights Pro roster here: http://eurocancup.com/londonroster.html
The Euro Can Cup runs from August 25th – August 31st and also includes teams EV Zug, Linz Black Wings, and EHC Munchen. Each team will play a three-game round robin. Looks like the 2nd and 3rd place teams will play a semi-final game on August 30th, and the winner will then play the 1st place team on August 31st to determine the winner of the tournament.
So far, reports have been that Rob Schremp has looked pretty good in the tourney, having scored 2 goals and assist in the most recent game Friday, vs. EV Zug. In 2 games so far, Sam Gagner has 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points, Rob Schremp has 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points, and Marc Pouliot has 5 points.
